“Power of the Fruits”

Hey babes back again with my 4 part guide on the “Power of the Fruits”.
As we all Know fruits are not only helpful for our bodies but also play a major role to our skin on the outside. There are 10 major fruits that are super beneficial to your skin, however here are my top 4 fruits I use monthly to keep my skin clear, refreshed and smooth.

 


1. AVOCADOS “The protector of the Skin”

Avocados are a highly nutritious fruit, hyped in the health world as a superfood and often used to make vegan mayonnaise. Not only do they taste great, but they also offer amazing benefits for skin when consumed, as well as when applied topically.
Avocados contain biotin, also known as vitamin B7. Biotin promotes cell regeneration and growth, resulting in faster growing hair and nails. Avocados also contain Vitamin E, known as “the Protector of Skin”. The fatty acids in this naturally fatty fruit help to provide skin with essential lubrications, which promotes youthful, glowing skin.

MY FACE MASK SUGGESTION:

1/2 ripe avocado
1/2 fresh lemon
1 tablespoon of honey

  • mix and apply to face with hands or small face brush. leave on for 5-10 min. rinse with cool water. repeat 2-3 times a week for best results. 

 

2. BANANAS “The moisturizer of the skin”

Bananas contain high levels of potassium, which helps moisturizes and hydrates the skin, making it look fuller, more supple, and youthful. They contain various skin-healthy nutrients such as Vitamin A, B, and E.
The nutrients in bananas work to maintain the elasticity of skin, moisturise, prevent premature aging and wrinkles, soften and rejuvenate, and fade dark spots and blemishes.

MY FACE MASK SUGGESTION:

FOR ACNE:

2 tbs mashed banana
1 tbs baking soda
1/2 tbs fresh lemon juice

  • MIX ALL AND APPLY TO CLEANSED FACERinse it off after 10-12 min. Repeat 2 times a week for best results

FOR WRINKLES

2 TBS MASHED BANANA
1 TBS YOGURT
1/2 TABLESPOOn FRESH LEMON JUICE

  • Mix all and apply to cleansed face. Rinse it off after 20-30 minRepeat 3-4 times in a week for best results.

 

3. LEMON “The Antibacterial of the Skin”

Speaking of citrus fruits, lemons are a great addition to your beauty regimen, as they are known to be “Nature’s Bleach.” Lemons safely whiten and lighten skin and promote an even tone by reducing acne marks and blemishes. They also deep cleanse the skin by breaking down any grime clogging the pores.
Did you know that lemon is also a natural exfoliator for the skin? By gently rubbing lemon juice, you are not only making your skin lighter, brighter and free of scar marks, but also making it softer. The layer of dead skin is easily peeled off, thanks to the natural antioxidants and antibacterial properties of lemon juice.
To Exfoliate:
Cut a lemon into quarters and dip the pieces in a small amount of sugar. Slowly and gently rub it on the skin and leave it on for 15 minutes. If you have really dry skin, you can mix equal amounts of sugar, lemon juice and water. Leave this paste on for 15 minutes before washing it off.

My Face Mask Suggestion:

Cut a lemon in half and squeeze juice onto face.

  • Leave for 10 min, rinsing with cool water. Use 4-5 a week for best results

 

4. STRAWBERRIES “The Alpha of the skin”

Apart from a high Vitamin C content, strawberries also contain an important alpha hydroxyl acid, known as salicylic acid. You may have heard of salicylic acid for acne treatments. It is known to penetrate deep into the pores and clean them out. It can unclog oily pores and stop pimples from forming. This will help clear out milia, whiteheads, and blackheads before they become stubborn pimples.
Strawberries also contain a powerful anti-oxidant called ellagic acid, proven to prevent the destruction of collagen that leads to wrinkle formation. Ellagic acid has a photo-protective effect that guards against UV damage.

MY FACE MASK SUGGESTION:

Mash up a few strawberries
Add 1 tbsp of baking soda
Mix together

  • Apply to face with hands or brushLeave on for 15-20 min. Rinse with warm water and to take all excess mask off use a gentle tonerApply light moisturizer
